Sun King Farms has been in its current location for over 30 years. We
have a fun, relaxed atmosphere and borders that do everything from
endurance and showing at the national level to families who all they
want is to trail ride and love their horses. We have seen our "girls"
grow up, go to college, get married, have their own kids and bring
them to Sun King for lessons.
We love our Arabians, but we realize the virtue of all breeds, so we board them too.
We have paints and pintos, thoroughbreds, quarter horses, ponies, some draft crosses, a
standard bred and the occasional halflinger, and that's just right
now. We have had too many different breeds to mention, and we love
and care for them all the same. But just so you know, the Arabians
out number the rest by a lot.
As you can see, Sun King is a happening place. The owners and several
others live on site, so your horses are never left on their own for
long. We have averted and accompanied several disasters, just by
being here. If you add up the years we have all been in horses, it
would be in the hundreds. What I am trying to say here is our horses
are well cared for. I couldn't think of a better, more loving place
to board a horse.
Beyond all that, we have a hot walker, two large outdoor arenas (with
jumps), turnouts, a wash rack (no hot water -- after all, this is
Southern California), trailer storage and access to great trails (some
trailering necessary, but there are several people you can hitch a
ride with). We feed only the best quality oat hay and alfalfa, and if
you desire we can supplement your horse as well. As far as how we
keep your horses, we have large community turnouts,
12X24 foot pipe corrals with covers, or a very limited number of
barn stalls.
Call for availability! We have a very low turn over, so
you better call ahead.
We have two ladies that give lessons here and they have both been giving
lessons and riding for their whole lives. Ellie and Rebecca have
competed in several different disciplines. You can definitely find a
match for you or your child. See they both give lessons to the
youngest very beginners or their parents (and sometimes both). You
can ride your own horse or theirs, they have the best broke kids'
horses or the more advanced kind for you to move up to as you
progress. They can even help you buy one when you're ready.
If you happen to have a young horse that needs to be started or a
veteran that needs tune up, we have several trainers in the area that
will come here to work your horse. Just let us know what it is you
want to accomplished and we'll match you up with the best trainer for
your needs.
